Force — operator app for equipment and shift tracking

Last updated 9 August 2026

Who this applies to

Force is a private workforce application operated by Strong Plant for its own employees and contractors. It is not a consumer product. You use it because your employer issued you an account; there is no public sign-up.

What the app collects

  • Account details — the username, display name and employee record your supervisor created for you, plus the 4-digit PIN you set for quick unlock. The PIN is stored on the device in the operating system's encrypted keystore and is never sent in plain text.
  • Precise location (GPS) — captured at the moment you start a shift, end a shift, or file an equipment report, to confirm the work happened at the site it was logged against. Location is not tracked continuously and is not collected while the app is in the background.
  • Photos you take in the app — pictures of equipment, meters, damage and attachments. The camera is used only when you tap to capture; the app never reads your photo gallery.
  • Scanned equipment codes — the asset ID from the QR label on the machine you are operating.
  • Shift and equipment records — start and end times, hour-meter readings, breakdown reports and handover notes that you enter.
  • Basic device and connection state — used to queue work offline and sync it when the network returns.

What the app does not do

  • No advertising, ad networks or ad identifiers.
  • No third-party analytics or behavioural tracking.
  • No access to contacts, messages, call logs or the photo gallery.
  • No background or continuous location tracking.
  • Your data is never sold, rented or shared for marketing.

Where the data goes

All data is sent over an encrypted HTTPS connection to Strong Plant's own Force server and is stored there. It is not shared with any third party, other than the infrastructure providers needed to carry and host that connection (Cloudflare for network transport, and the hosting environment running the Force server). Google Play distributes the app itself but receives none of your work data.

A copy of your recent records is also cached on your phone so the app works underground and out of coverage. That local copy is removed when you sign out or uninstall the app.

Why we collect it

Solely to run operations: verifying who operated which machine and when, tracking equipment condition and utilisation, calculating shift hours, and investigating breakdowns and incidents. It is used for employment and equipment-management purposes and nothing else.

How long it is kept

Shift, equipment and audit records are retained by Strong Plant for as long as they are needed for operational, payroll, insurance and legal purposes. Your account can be deactivated by your supervisor at any time, which immediately revokes access from the app.

Your choices

Location and camera permissions are requested at the point of use and can be refused or revoked in Android Settings. Refusing them does not stop the app from running, but shift start/end and equipment reports that require a verified location or photo cannot be completed without them.

To request a copy of your data, correct it, or have your account deleted, contact your supervisor or write to [email protected]. Requests are answered within 30 days. Deleting your account removes your login and personal profile; shift and equipment records required for payroll and statutory recordkeeping are retained in anonymised form. Step-by-step instructions are on the account deletion page.

Children

Force is a workplace tool issued to employed adults. It is not directed at, and must not be used by, anyone under 18.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version appears on this page with a new “last updated” date. Material changes are communicated through your supervisor.
